Utility man Don Kelly was voted The Detroit Baseball Society's 2013 Tenth Man Award winner on Friday, winning the honor for the second time in its three-year history.
Kelly will be honored Jan. 25 at the 13th Annual Detroit Baseball Dinner at Bloomfield Hills Country Club.
"Don Kelly was always able to make a smooth transition to any position in which he was needed," The Detroit Baseball Society president Steve Clarfelt said in a statement. "He is a true class act and we are honored to name Don Kelly as our Tenth Man Award winner."
Kelly was once again a valuable and versatile member of the Tigers, playing six different positions while appearing in 112 games. Although he primarily played outfield, he also appeared at third base, second base and first base and served as the designated hitter.
The 33-year-old finished the season with six home runs and 23 RBIs.
