Scherzer's Superstars: Each Tuesday home game, Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer invites eight young people and their mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit to Comerica Park to watch batting practice on the field, receive complimentary Scherzer's Superstars t-shirts and have the opportunity to meet Max before the enjoying the Tigers game. Through the program, Scherzer hopes to instill excitement in the game of baseball with the children, and thank the mentors for volunteering their time to serve as a positive role model for the Detroit community.
Hunter's Homies: Tigers All-Star outfielder Torii Hunter has partnered with the Detroit Tigers Foundation to host deserving Tigers fans during the 2013 season. Program participants each receive a game ticket, a Hunter's Homies t-shirt and the opportunity to meet Hunter on the field during Tigers batting practice. This week, Hunter will host children and staff from Christ Child House, an intensive treatment center fully licensed by the state of Michigan that provides residential services for boys, ages five through 17 who suffer emotional, behavioral and physical impairment resulting from severe abuse and neglect.
Buses for Baseball: The Detroit Tigers and the MLB Players Trust for Children will host the Eagle Sports Club for this year's Buses for Baseball. The day is designed to help bring inner city children to the ballpark. The Tigers will provide game tickets, bus transportation on the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express and the opportunity to watch batting practice at Comerica Park. The MLB Players Association will provide food vouchers for the children. Sports Club is a Christian-based organization that is working with children and families to revitalize neighborhood's, restore parks and encourage spiritual revival.
Cornerstone Schools Pre-Game Ceremony: The Tigers will host the 8th annual "Be a Tiger for Kids" event at Comerica Park. Supporters and students from Cornerstone Schools will participate in an pre-game ceremony, throw the ceremonial first pitches, perform the National Anthem, and take part in Kids Take the Field, Kids Run the Bases and other fun-filled activities. Cornerstone Schools and Cornerstone Charter Schools serve more than 1,500 children in grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. In a city with the lowest high school graduation rate in the country, Cornerstone students achieve a 95% high school graduation rate and 91% continue with higher learning. 100% of the proceeds from this event will support the Cornerstone Schools Association Scholarship Fund.

Cabrera's Chamitos: Tigers All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera will invite 20 fans to Comerica Park for each remaining Wednesday home game as part of his Cabrera's Chamitos program. The group will watch batting practice from the field, receive complimentary Cabrera's Chamitos t-shirts and will have the opportunity to meet Cabrera. The group is also treated to complimentary transportation to Comerica Park by the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express. This week Cabrera will welcome children from the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation's mission is to make a difference by creating life-changing opportunities for youth and their families.
Game Ball Delivery: Staff Sergeant David Starasinich of the United States Army from Port Huron, Michigan will deliver today's game ball. Staff Sergeant Starasinich recently returned from his third deployment including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a combat engineer. He has earned three Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, two Meritorious Unit Citations, an Army Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal, three Iraq Campaign Medals, a NATO Medal, a Combat Action Badge and an Expert Marksmanship Badge. Staff Sergeant Starasinich has proudly served his country for six years.

MLBPA Heart and Hustle Award Presentation: Established in 2005, the MLB Players Alumni Association created the Heart & Hustle Award to recognize the current player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game. The MLBPAA selected Don Kelly as the 2013 Tigers recipient. He will receive his award during a special pre-game ceremony from Hall of Famer, Al Kaline prior to the game
Game Ball Delivery: Staff Sergeant Eric Hubbell of the United States Marine Corps from Jackson, Michigan will deliver today's game ball. Staff Sergeant Hubbell recently returned from deployment at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan where he served for seven months. He has been deployed four times and has served on the USS George Washington, the USS Carl Vinson, the USS Kearsarge along with numerous Marine Corps Air Stations across the United States. Staff Sergeant Eric Hubbell has proudly served his country for 19 years.
Verlander's Victory for Veterans: When Justin Verlander takes the mound at Comerica Park, he strives for victory. This season, his outings on the hill take on a new meaning. For each of his home starts, Verlander will host Veterans from the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit and the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. All guests receive a Verlander's Victory for Veterans T-shirt and are welcomed on the video board during the game. Veterans also receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander. When you see Verlander on the mound, he is not only playing for his team and Tigers fans around the world, he is also playing for America's heroes.
