Tigers host the White Sox and Rangers during a Six-Game Homestand

The Tigers return home from their eleven-game road trip to begin a six-game homestand at Comerica Park on Tuesday night. The Chicago White Sox (July 9-11) will make their first visit to Detroit this season and the Texas Rangers (July 12-14) face the Tigers for the second time this season. First pitch for Tuesday and Wednesday's games against the White Sox are 7:08 p.m., while Thursday's is 1:08 p.m. First pitch for Friday against the Rangers is at 7:08 p.m. and Saturday's contest begins at 7:15 p.m. The final game of the homestand on Sunday begins at 1:08 p.m.

Tuesday, July 9 - Chicago White Sox @ 7:08 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.) Probables: Justin Verlander vs. Jose Quintana  

·  Summer Fun Pack: The Summer Fun Pack is now available for the July 9th and 10th games at Comerica Park. This ticket package includes: an upper box ticket, value meal, Detroit Tigers t-shirt and ride coupon for $35. This ticket package is available online only at tigers.com for advance ticket sales and is not available on the day of the game.
·  Scherzer's Superstars: Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer invites 16 fans to Comerica Park for each remaining Tuesday home game. As guests of Scherzer, the group watches batting practice on the field, receives complimentary Scherzer's Superstars t-shirts and has the opportunity to meet Scherzer. The participants in the program are matches from Big Brothers Big Sisters Metro Detroit. Through the program, Scherzer hopes to instill excitement for baseball with the youth and thank the mentors for volunteering their time to serve as a positive role model for the youth of the Detroit community.  
·  Game Ball Delivery: Private First Class Braiden Garcia of the United States Army from Waterford will deliver the game ball. Private First Class Garcia recently returned from Afghanistan where he served as a Calvary Scout with the 101st Airborne Division. He has received a Combat Action Badge, an Army Commendation Medal, a NATO/ISAF Medal, an Afghan Campaign Medal and has earned his Gold Spurs. He also is newly Air Assault qualified. Private First Class Braiden Garcia has proudly served his country for a year and a half.

Wednesday, July 10 - Chicago White Sox @ 7:08 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.) Probables: Rick Porcello vs. Dylan Axelrod

·  Cabrera's Chamitos: Tigers All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera invites 20 fans to Comerica Park for each remaining Wednesday home game as part of his Cabrera's Chamitos program. The group will watch batting practice from the field, receive complimentary Cabrera's Chamitos t-shirts and will have the opportunity to meet Cabrera. The group is also treated to complimentary transportation to Comerica Park by the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express. The program participants are from deserving charitable groups in the greater Detroit area. Youth from CLAVE (Community for Latino Artists, Visionaries & Educators ) will participate in the program. CLAVE is a network of artists, culture activists and supporters united for the promotion of Latino culture and arts. CLAVE supports Latino Artists and activists through a variety of exhibitions and events. CLAVE supports education through the arts, especially for the economically disadvantaged.
· The first 10,000 fans 21-and-older to enter Comerica Park will receive a Detroit Tigers Stars and Stripes Cooler Bag, courtesy of Miller Lite.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Sergeant Stephen Fox of the U.S. Army from Belleville, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Sergeant Fox has served in Iraq and recently returned from deployment in Kandahar, Afghanistan where he ran 44 missions. While on his most recent deployment, he earned an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, an Armed Forced Medal, a NATO Medal and a Combat Action Badge. Sergeant Stephen Fox has proudly served his country for 13 years.
·  Willie Horton Scholarship Presentation: The Tigers created this annual scholarship in 2000 in honor of hometown hero and former Detroit Tiger Willie Horton. Each year, a $5,000 scholarship is awarded by the Detroit Tigers Foundation to a senior from Detroit's Northwestern High School, Horton's alma mater. Scholarship recipients are students who display high levels of commitment to academics, leadership, character development and volunteer involvement. Karla Nava-Lopez, winner of the scholarship, will be honored in an on-field ceremony at Comerica Park.


Thursday, July 11 - Chicago White Sox @ 1:08 p.m. (Gates open at 11:30 a.m.) Probables: Anibal Sanchez vs. Chris Sale

·  Softball 360 Stadium Power Tour: Prior to the game, the Softball 360 Stadium Power Tour makes a stop at Comerica Park. During this pregame on-field event, softball power hitters will participate in a home run derby hitting home runs up to 500 feet.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Lieutenant Junior Grade Michael Nyland of the United States Navy from Traverse City will deliver the game ball. Lieutenant Junior Grade Nyland has served in the Western Pacific, the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and most recently in Afghanistan. He has earned numerous special awards including 2 Navy Accommodation Medals, 2 Navy Achievement Medals, an Iraqi Campaign Service Medal, an Armed Services Medal, a Humanitarian Service Medal, an Outstanding Military Volunteer Service Medal, and six sea service ribbons. Lieutenant Junior Grade Nyland has proudly served his country for 13 years.
·  Look Out for a Senior / Elder Care Advocacy: The Detroit Tigers partner with the Area Agency on Aging to raise awareness of the No Excuse for Elder Abuse campaign, a multi-media awareness campaign to inform older adults and the general public about the growing problem of elder abuse and financial exploitation. The Tigers assist with public awareness of the campaign and donate 500 complimentary tickets to the organization to attend the Tigers game on July 11.  

Friday, July 12 - Texas Rangers @ 7:08 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.)
·  Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Pepsi, will take place following the game (weather permitting).
· The first 10,000 fans to enter Comerica Park will receive a Detroit Tigers Rally Towel, courtesy of Pepsi.
·  MLB At The Ballpark Dugout Fireworks Opportunity: One fan (and a guest) who checks in at Comerica Park with the MLB At The Ballpark App will have the opportunity to watch the postgame fireworks show from the visitor's dugout. Don't miss out on this special opportunity!
·  Detroit Tigers 50/50 Charity Raffle: The Detroit Tigers 50/50 charity raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at every Friday and Saturday home game. The partner charity on July 12 & 13 is Friends of Camp Mak-a-Dream, Michigan Chapter. The mission of Friends of Camp Mak-A-Dream, Michigan Chapter is to support the mission and goals of Camp Mak-A-Dream in Montana by providing strategic, financial and marketing support for specifically chosen projects that will further the growth and advancement of Camp Mak-A-Dream, a cost-free camp program for children and young adults with cancer. The Michigan Chapter provides a cost-free camp experience and often times cost-free transportation for Michigan residents to attend the camp. Each year campers are recruited from across the state of Michigan. Tickets will be sold from the time gates open through the end of the second inning. 50/50 Charity Raffle volunteers are stationed throughout the ballpark in their orange 50/50 Raffle aprons, at entry gates and at the 50/50 raffle table near gate A to purchase raffle tickets. 50/50 Charity Raffle tickets are sold 3-for-$5. Each night a winner will be selected and announced after the sixth inning and will receive half of the funds collected through that game's raffle ticket sales. The remaining funds are shared between the Detroit Tigers Foundation and the select partner charity. To date, the 2013 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised $53,367.50 for charity with the single largest one-game prize this season being $8,342.50.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Lieutenant Neal Palmreuter of the United States Navy from Frankenmuth, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Lieutenant Palmreuter recently returned from Afghanistan where he served as a member of the Fleet Marine Force. He has earned an expert sharpshooting medal and is a Wayne State Medical School graduate. Lieutenant Palmreuter has proudly served his country for six years.

Saturday, July 13 - Texas Rangers @ 7:15 p.m. (Gates open at 5:30 p.m.)
·  Saturday Night Fireworks, presented by Pepsi and Meijer, will take place following the game (weather permitting).
·  MLB At The Ballpark Dugout Fireworks Opportunity: One fan (and a guest) who checks in at Comerica Park with the MLB At The Ballpark App will have the opportunity to watch the postgame fireworks show from the visitor's dugout. Don't miss out on this special opportunity!
·  Game Ball Delivery: Sergeant Douglas Aldridge of the United States Army from Jackson, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Sergeant Aldridge is an airborne and air assault soldier serving with the 5th Special Forces team. He has served in several special NATO operations in Turkey and Israel. He also is a member of the 82nd All Americans Global Reaction Force. Sergeant Douglas Aldridge has proudly served his country for 6 years.

Sunday, July 14 - Kids Day - Texas Rangers @ 1:08 p.m. (Gates open at 11:30 a.m.)
· All kids 14-and-younger will receive an "Every Kid, Every Sunday" Justin Verlander Bobblehead, courtesy of DMC.
All Sunday home games are Kids Days at Comerica Park, presented by Radio Disney. All kids 14-and-younger will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, can enjoy free rides on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, courtesy of Kroger, can take part in free face painting, have the chance to win a bicycle and are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases, courtesy of Aquafina, following the game.
·  Game Ball Delivery: Major Matt Kuhn of the United States Army of Berkley, Michigan will deliver the game ball. Major Kuhn served in five deployments as an Army Ranger and Master Parachutist including tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo. He has been awarded the Combat and Expert Infantryman's Badges, Bronze Star with Valor, Army Commendation with Valor, two Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation, three Meritorious Service Medals, four Foreign Jump Wings and 14 other awards. Major Kuhn has proudly served the United States Army for 14 years.

SPECIAL INITIATIVES

Verlander's Victory for Veterans: When Justin Verlander takes the mound at Comerica Park, he strives for victory. This season, his outings on the hill take on a new meaning. For each of his home starts, Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander; all guests receive a Verlander's Victory for Veterans t-shirt and are welcomed on the videoboard during the game. When you see Verlander on the mound, he is not only playing for his team and Tigers fans around the world, he is also playing for America's heroes.
